When you think of outdoor
music venues, and think of gorgeous natural settings, the first that may come to
mind is the majestic splendor of Red Rocks. This amphitheater, just west of
Denver, helped launch the career of
U2, and was a favorite stop for bands like
Phish and the
Grateful Dead. This summer, the amphitheater hosted
more concerts than ever before, ranging from rock and folk to classical and
jazz. Our camera crew visited Red Rocks and was stunned -- to the point of
speechlessness, which is rare for us -- by both the natural beauty and the
natural acoustics.
